Q&A with Zeph Colombatto

Zeph Colombatto is our Featured GQ Insider, scoring the highest on the most recent quiz of all things GQ. Zeph is currently a student and also works for a custom metalwork design firm in New York. In his free time when he's not playing lacrosse, rugby and crew, he likes to shop and travel. Zeph has been an avid GQ reader since October 2006.

How would you describe your style?
My style is classically eclectic with a refurbished flare. I love to emulate style icons like Ralph Lauren, Steve McQueen, and JFK among others.

Who is your favorite fashion designer?
Right now, Michael Bastian and Tom Ford

Nudie Jeans - Slim Jim

What was the last good book you've read and why did you like it?
The Fan Man by William Kotzwinkle
It was completely ridiculous and very entertaining.

What was the last good movie that you saw?
Bullet. Steve McQueen has such a raw power.
Iron Man. Robert Downey Jr. is just so cocky and cool that it works.

What's your favorite gadget that you currently own?
My iPhone. It does everything.

What vehicle do you think you'll purchase next?
A new bicycle

What are some of your favorite video games?
I am a sucker for Tetris, but I just started a band on Rock Band with my friends.

Place you'd most like to visit outside U.S.? Next foreign vacation?
Paris or India. Probably Montreal.

What blogs are you reading regularly?
The Sartorialist, the end.

Have you taken any advice or suggestions from GQ? If so, what?
Yes. "Yes, it's okay—Downright cool, even—to flash some ankle. Hem your khakis so they barely touch the top of your shoes." - GQ June 2008. I love that. It's a simple adjustment like that, which can make a traditional outfit a masterpiece.

What was your favorite recent GQ article and why did you like it?
I delighted in reading "My Sweet Life." Desserts are fantastic and often get a bad rap for being unhealthy, but in moderation, desserts that don't put you over the edge are complete bliss.
